Work Experience

Currently, I am employed by The University of Alabama at the Center for Advanced Public Safety, CAPS. CAPS is a research center that develops technology and software for public safety, healthcare, and social service entities. Currently, we have clients in four states and a major project in development for the federal government.

Training Coordinator

My duties at CAPS center on instructional content development and delivery through a variety of methods including traditional, online, and LMS.

Act as a liaison between the client and our developers in order to meet application requirements and deadlines.

During the early phases of software development I document bugs, feature requests, and design suggestions; then later create illustrated training manuals for distribution.

  • Gadsden Police Dept. 2001 - 2008
    IT Manager

    Duties at Gadsden PD as IT Manager included: system administration, network design & support, computer forensics, crime analysis, web site administrator, and records unit supervisor. Supervised the daily operations of over forty civilian personnel.

  • Gadsden Police Dept. 1994 - 2001
    Police Officer

  • Duties at Gadsden PD as a police officer included working with community leaders, elected officials, and concerned citizens to identify problems in the community and to form crime prevention committees and neighborhood watches. Created long-term proactive policing techniques in order to decrease and eliminate neighborhood problems.
