Welcome to Kitty’s page. Kitty is the owner’s 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo.

The vehicle has 26K miles on it. She’s never been wrecked and has had only three owners since birth. Carfax report is clean for this vehicle.

Maintenance:
Recently changed the oil, oil filter, plugs, plug wires, and rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder. I used Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil, K&N oil filter, and NGK plugs. Unfortanetly there are no service records for this vehicle because the car was given to me and the previous owner did not get them from the person she bought it from. I do know that Lotus Atlanta (?) charged the A/C and replaced the Alt Belt in 2000.

Mechanical:
Kitty starts right up, idles down after warm-up, shifts easily, and runs great. The Good Year Eagle GT II’s still look new with plenty of tread left on them. Brakes are good. All gauges and controls work. All lights work. Passenger side window is slow moving but has a full range of motion. 2002 Battery installed. The A/C may need to be charged again. Blaukpunt (sp) AM/FM CD Player with original Lotus speakers. Leather in very good condition along with the dash and steering wheel.

Appearance:

As you can see by the pictures below that she is in very good condition. Garage kept her whole life until recently when she was moved to a carport but covered religiously. All the glass looks good and her paint shines magnificently.

1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo

This was the year of the first Peter Stevens Esprit. It was the year the name  was flipped from Turbo Esprit to Esprit Turbo. The 1988MY was essentially re-skinned 1987 Turbo Esprit. Its engine had a Bosch fuel injection system and the same Citroen gearbox. Engine compression was 8.0:1 and boost was increased  to 9.5psi. Output was 215hp, 220ft/lbs torque. 0-60 in 5.1, top speed 146mph.
